Wonderful WWI Memorial at Cheriton

There is, in the church of St Michael and All Angels Cheriton, a very unusual and moving WWI memorial

In the south and north aisles are four stained glass windows. Each depicts a nephew of Mrs Mary Augusta Phipps Egerton, killed in battle in WWI. Each window depicts one of the knightly virtues of Duty, Courage, Loyalty and Honour and the face of one of these young men. They are beautiful and very moving. Around each figure are included scenes from the bible and the Arthurian legend and most touchingly badges of their schools and regiments.
